A disability is defined as something that limits a person's daily functioning.
 
What is a handicap?
A handicap is an attuitude someone has that is based on one's functional limitation.
 
What is self-advocacy?
This is a technique in which you exercise your own rights to problem solve and then reach a solution. This may be necessary to accomodate a special need you have associated with your disability. For example, getting a ramp built to enter a building.
 
What is empowerment?
This is the positive feeling that accompanies a successful advocacy effort. Inherent is the belief that change is possible and a person feels a sense of inner strength when a goal is reached.
 
What is Infobility?
This term stands for the exchange of information with regard to disability issues. It is a movement that stresses the importance of a person becoming his or her own advocate to solve problems, and then passing this knowledge on to the next person.
 
How is Infobility different from other programs?
Infobility does not impose limits with regard to 1) disability, 2) residence, 3) issue or 3) resource.
The only criteria is that the person works in conjunction with the staff in reaching a solution.
 
What does Infobility offer?
Infobility offers information that could be helpful for a person facing a disability-related problem.
This may be in the form of an e-book, a speech, counseling, or an event.
