"Teaching Disability on the Classrom"
Students often have questions about disability but do not have a forum in which to ask them-until now. This is a week-long unit that allows the teacher to present this important topic in an educational and interesting manner and encouages students to ask questions and make comments. It may be supplimented with a guest speaker and/or a video. This works well for third and fourth grade classes and youth groups.
Each class includes:
Lesson plans for teachers which offer explanations of the topic.
Thought provokig questions which encourage the student to think.
Experiencial activities that thoroughly engage the students.
Worksheets which students may take home and unique games.
Topics include the concept of discrimination
sensory and physical disabilities
learning disabilities
emotional challenges
developmental disability
Marketing material is also included to promote this program in other locations.
